Location!Location!Location!
Watersong is a brand new community in Davenport.
It has been built on conservation land with everyone having a rear lake or woodland view ( we chose the woodland view as the midges and mozzies can be a bit much in summer on the lakes).
This is a gated community and for extra security there is a manned security station on the entrance from 6pm to 8am.
There is a central clubhouse within the community which has a large open air pool, cyber cafe, games arcade, gymnasium, spa, basketball court, volleyball court, children's playground and landscaped picnic areas.
Our villa is 142 Tigerlily Court which is a little cul-de-sac immediately off of the main access road once past the gates, meaning it is a very quiet area as only those who live in the street will use it.
We are perfectly situated for all of the attractions and are only 6 miles from the I-4 exit which will take you to Universal, International Drive, Sea World, Mall at Millenia, Premium Outlets, and so on and so on......
We are also only 10 minutes from the Disney Maingates which can be accessed from either the I-4 or Hwy192 taking you to all points Mickey!
To get to us from the airports couldn't be simpler... from both Sanford and Orlando International, make your way onto the the 417 toll road which is the quickest route (if you're hiring a car from the airports then try prepaying all the tolls and use the Express no- stop toll booths) or you could head for the I-4, go West toward Tampa, this route takes a little longer. The 417 eventually hits the I-4 where you head towards Tampa leaving at Exit 58. Orlando will take 20 minutes, Sanford about 30.
There are also two simple routes to Hwy 192, one coming out via Lake Wilson Road by the Disney turn off and the other via Poinciana Boulevard coming out by Medieval Knights, both taking only 10 minutes maximum. You can also explore Poinciana Boulevard South as this will take you to some of the Great Lakes and Boggy Creek airboat rides.
We are also only 10 minutes from US27, a main route heading North to Silver Springs National Park and South to a new shopping and recreational complex.
So all in all a perfect base to explore Orlando and beyond.
Golf
Our neighbouring community of Providence, just 1 minute up the 17-92, have just opened an 18 championship golf course (July 08) with discounts for Watersong dwellers.
I put in a search on a course finder(http://golfonline.com) and came up with 26 courses within 20 miles of our house so you really are spoilt for choice. I've listed below some of the nearest ones if you want to check them out on't tinterweb! For your search our zip code is 33837.
